PROSPECT HOSPICE DONATION
The Friends of Fairford and Lechlade Communities recently handed over a cheque for £25,000 to Prospect Hospice which enables our community to access Prospect's palliative care services. This is an arrangement that we have continued for over 10 years, helping over 300 patients and our relationship with Prospect Hospice strengthens every year. The Chairman, Graham Hewitt together with Celia Kennedy are presenting it to Irene Watkins (Chief Executive Officer) and Helen Mansell (Clinical Nurse Specialist Team Leader).>
This event raised a magnificent £1500 for the League of Friends. Our thanks go to everyone who attended and to Earl St Aldwyns for letting us use the gardens at Mill House Coln St Aldwyns.
HOUSE-TO-HOUSE FUND RAISING EVENT 2019
This year’s House-to-House event raised ££20,841 for Friends of Fairford & Lechlade Communities. Another tremendous result and an increase of £1,000 on last year’s total. Our thanks go to all the volunteers who make this happen and to all our supporters in the community for their generosity.
NOTHING IS CHANGING EXCEPT THE NAME
For many years, the League of Friends of Fairford Hospital has served Fairford, Lechlade and surrounding villages by raising money to fund support services for the local community and bring health care as close to home as possible.
It will continue to do so for many more years to come, but under the new name of: Friends of Fairford & Lechlade Communities. As many of you know we agreed to this name change in 2018 and we are now actively rolling this out.
Please rest assured: NOTHING will change except the name and the Friends of Fairford & Lechlade Communities will continue to do what the League of Friends of Fairford Hospital has always done i.e. be active in the local community providing health and social care to those in Fairford, Lechlade and the surrounding villages.
